Vashandiri a group formed in the Church of Christ launched their very first album on Saturday which encourages worshippers and citizens to work hard to achieve goals in life.
This non-commercial ensemble formed within the Church of Christ aims to uplift worshippers and encourage people to strive for their goals through the power of music and dance.
The album is called Kana Tokokwa consisting of six songs which include Tariro yangu, Kuhunhaira, kana tokohwa, jesu mandibairwa, chinjikano and shoko rekare kare.
The launch event was attended by notable gospel artists including Followers of Christ, Boys of Thunder, UCGC and the legendary Baba Mechanic Manyeruke.
Their presence added a touch of glamour and support to the occasion highlighting the unity within the gospel music community.
Speaking after the album launch, Pastor Edwin Chakanyuka, the leader of Vashandiri expressed gratitude for the support received from church members throughout their journey.
‘’ The group consist of both elders and youth which help us stay united during the project and give us. The name Vashandiri was a word to our loved ones so that they should work hard to succeed. This is our way to praise and worship the Lord through music and dancing,’’ he said.
Manyeruke offered words of wisdom to the group encouraging them to maintain their unity and stay true to their musical identity.
‘As a group, you should always work together as you started this journey in the music world. Unity leads to success and you must not change your theme or music type because of people’s views or comments on social media,’’ he advised.
