Three people were injured in a road traffic accident that occurred today at around 12 noon at the corner of Second Street and Fife Avenue.
According to eyewitnesses, a Toyota Hiace overturned in the middle of the road after suddenly turning without noticing a Passo vehicle following closely behind. The Passo collided with the Kombi, resulting in severe damage to the front of the smaller vehicle and leaving three occupants injured.
“The Commuter Omnibus suddenly turned, not noticing the other car behind it, which led to the Passo crashing into it and destroying its front,” said one eyewitness at the scene.

Concerns were raised over the delayed response from emergency services. Police officers reportedly arrived about 50 minutes after the accident, despite being stationed less than 100 metres away where they had been controlling traffic earlier. By the time of reporting, more than an hour had passed without an ambulance arriving at the scene.
Adding to public concern, witnesses also reported seeing another police officer nearby who was busy loading his private vehicle destined for Mazawe instead of assisting at the accident scene.
The condition of the injured victims has not yet been officially confirmed, and investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing.
